From the heights of Mount Whitney to the San Joaquin Valley, the wild and scenic Kern River flows through the Southern Sierra Nevada mountains on its long winding journey. Along the way the river attracts campers, white water rafters and anglers. The Kern begins within the boundary of Sequoia National Park, passes into Sequoia National Forest and then continues south before exiting the Sierras east of Bakersfield. This view of the river is somewhere north of Kernville. Even though it is outside of Sequoia National Park, I’ve included in this collection because the river originates within Sequoia National Park.
I love photography! When creating a photograph I'm looking for lines, shapes, colors, positions and relationships amongst all that is before the camera. I also love finding the right blend of light and dark, as well as near and far visual interest for each photograph I make. I've been blessed to live my whole life in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, California. This truly is a magnificent place! As you will discover my photography is a celebration of seeing the beauty and grandeur that surrounds me.
