General Grant National Park was created years ago for the purpose of preserving this Giant Sequoia Tree and the grove surrounding it. At that time this was believed to be the largest tree in the world. Decades passed. General Grant National Park became Kings Canyon National Park and a tremendous amount of additional wilderness land was added to the park. Eventually it was discovered that the Giant Sequoia Tree, General Sherman, is the world's biggest tree. The General Grant Tree, named after the Commanding General of the Union Army during the Civil War, still attracts thousands of visitors each year.
I love photography! When creating a photograph I'm looking for lines, shapes, colors, positions and relationships amongst all that is before the camera. I also love finding the right blend of light and dark, as well as near and far visual interest for each photograph I make. I've been blessed to live my whole life in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, California. This truly is a magnificent place! As you will discover my photography is a celebration of seeing the beauty and grandeur that surrounds me.
