It is so difficult to comprehend the size of a mature Giant Sequoia Tree. I've been visiting Sequoia National Park for nearly 50 years and I still stand in a state of wonder as I gaze upon these magnificent trees. One of the challenges of photographing the trees is conveying the immensity of their size and beauty. In this case, I've chosen to present a full length view of the Founders Gruop of trees with my friend added for a size reference.
I love photography! When creating a photograph I'm looking for lines, shapes, colors, positions and relationships amongst all that is before the camera. I also love finding the right blend of light and dark, as well as near and far visual interest for each photograph I make. I've been blessed to live my whole life in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, California. This truly is a magnificent place! As you will discover my photography is a celebration of seeing the beauty and grandeur that surrounds me.

I agree with everything you say about the difficulties of photographing giant trees. It's a bit amusing (or ironic) that we need a human element in a photograph to comprehend it. Great series of photos, Brett!
